THE ROAD TO CLARITY

WRITING AND EDITING

Does your content reflect your brand’s personality?
Is it relevant to your customers?
Do your communications inspire your employees?
What you write will shape the way people think of you. The words you use, your tone of voice, and the way you share ideas: they all matter.
We can help your team with research, writing and editing your corporate communications. Our skill lies in turning complex ideas into clear, convincing and engaging copy.
Effective writing, for print or web, marketing or internal communications, takes time. It requires empathy and a detailed understanding of your business and audiences. That’s where we can help you.

MAKING THE CONNECTION

THE SEMIOTIC APPROACH

Writerly is a boutique semiotics consultancy.
Semiotics is the study of meanings that underlie cultural signs: words, images and stories. An analysis of any system of signs will try to isolate the underlying laws by which these signs are combined into meanings. When someone reacts to a brand, the reaction is unconsciously informed by one’s culture, gender, folklore, history, nationhood as well as the person’s unconscious and orbit of expectations.
In their decisions, consumers project themselves onto their possessions and play out their personal and social identities and aspirations. Meaning is thereby transferred from culture into goods. This is why, in consumption, people do not always follow neat analytical categories of gender, class, age and so on.
Writerly can analyse the visual and textual aspects of your brand, the category in which it operates and show you how your brand relates to its wider context of meanings.
We will build on these findings and help you find direction and strategy for your brand to move forward. In today's world of cluttered media, this understanding is no longer a 'good to have' but an essential tool for your brand to thrive.
